A History of West Roofing
The Early Days of Peninsula Home Insulation
The name "West" has been attached to the roofing business since 1946, when Roger West, Jr. started Peninsula Home Insulation Company on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Originally the company provided insulation and storm windows to hundred of homeowners on the Delmarva peninsula.
In 1968 young Roger West, III (Buddy), the son of the founder, joined the company. West was only 18 years old at the time, and he expanded the business to include the Hampton Roads area. Since the beginning, thousands of homes have been re-roofed by the Wests. The location above was in Exmore, built in 1973. In 1981, Buddy West persued his dream of becoming a stockbroker.
